Join us for an always fun workshop in which you will create one larger richly colorful floral display piece as a work-in-turn piece, as well as two other smaller floral pieces taking them each through the first 2 rounds of building, detailing, and firing. In this 2-day workshop, Scandia will share the numerous approaches she uses in her own floral work, including "work-in-turns" to add depth and dimension, shading techniques to convey lighting, taking advantage of precut elements vs cutting elements from scrap, layering specific specialty glasses for extra visual display pop, getting the most from confetti and Murrini, as well as ways to display your finished pieces.

Materials used in the making of your pieces will include a range of colored Oceanside Compatible glasses and Frit, locally made blown glass Confetti, Vitrograph stems, shaped and or pressed Murrini, glass paints and an assortment of Stained Glass Stuff specially developed Wazer-cut glass design elements. This workshop will fill your inner-gardening creative spirit with countless ideas and instruction on making amazing floral displays.

All tools will be provided but you can bring your favorite glass cutters, nippers, breaking pliers, and tweezers if you choose.

All pieces will be fired for attendees to pick up when completed or arrangements can be made with us to pay for return shipping. Please visit Scandia's Instagram page @scandiaglassart or her website: www.ScandiaGlassArt.com to view additional group images from previous workshops.

Photos shown are some of Scandia's work using the techniques you will learn in this workshop.

When: This two-day advanced workshop runs from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm on both days.

Prerequisite:  Glass cutting and fusing experience highly recommended for this advanced workshop. Adults 18+ only.

Instructor Information: Scandia Wood began her art glass journey learning stained glass in her childhood and continued working with glass as a hobbyist throughout her life as a creative escape in her spare time. As luck would have it, her passion for art glass would eventually lead her to pursue a full-time career working for the art glass manufacturers themselves. In that capacity, she was able to assist in new product development, customer education, marketing efforts, attend industry trade shows, and teach numerous levels of fusing workshops.

Scandia considers herself to be incredibly fortunate that her longtime dance with art glass continues to evolve. She now focuses on creating her glass artwork through her own business, Scandia Glass Art.
She additionally still enjoys teaching glass fusing technique classes for art glass suppliers and special glass industry events.

The Fine Print: Please check your calendar before booking as we cannot give refunds, reschedules or credit. Tax and materials are included.
