Ready to transform the way you cut glass and design pieces?

Whether you create stained glass panels, fused glass artwork, or production pieces, the Morton Portable Glass Shop (MPGS) is one of the most versatile tools you can own—if you know how to use it to its full potential. Join Jennifer Joy Walkovich, owner of Morton Glass Works, for an immersive two-day workshop designed to help you master the techniques, tips, and professional shortcuts that will take your glass cutting skills to the next level.

As the owner of Morton Glass Works, Jennifer has spent years teaching, demonstrating, and working with the Morton System. She’ll share not only the fundamentals, but also the time-saving techniques, precision methods, and practical insights that come from daily experience with the tools and products.

Through live demonstrations, guided instruction, and plenty of hands-on practice, you’ll learn how to make the Morton System work for you—producing accurate, repeatable cuts that save time, reduce waste, and improve every project.

You’ll Learn:
• Proper setup and operation of the Morton Portable Glass Shop
• Fast, accurate methods for cutting strips, angles, diamonds, triangles, hexagons, and other
geometric shapes
• Professional techniques for producing consistent, repeatable cuts with exceptional precision
• How to choose the best glass cutter for your cutting style
• Insider tips and techniques that make cutting easier, cleaner, and more efficient
• Practical applications for both stained glass and kiln-formed glass projects
• If time permits, the secrets to cutting perfect circles with confidence

Throughout the workshop, you’ll work with beautiful Oceanside glass while receiving personalized instruction to build confidence and refine your technique.

What You’ll Create:
Throughout the workshop, students will complete two fused glass projects designed to reinforce the techniques learned in class.

• Project One: A basic geometric design that focuses on mastering the fundamentals of the
Morton System, including accurate measuring, repeatable cuts, and clean assembly.
• Project Two: A more advanced geometric composition that builds on the skills learned in
the first project, incorporating more complex angles, shapes, and precision cutting techniques.

Both projects will be fused and slumped, giving you two beautiful finished pieces while providing hands-on experience that you can immediately apply to future stained glass and fused glass projects.

All tools will be provided to use in class but if you want to bring your favourite tools from home, feel free to do so. Make sure that they are clearly labelled with your name.

Safety requirements: Closed-toe shoes must be worn in the classroom. Safety glasses must also be worn and these will be provided to you or you can bring your own.

Whether you’ve owned a Morton System for years or are just beginning to explore its capabilities, this workshop will help you cut with greater accuracy, confidence, and efficiency. You’ll leave with new skills, professional techniques, and a deeper understanding of one of the most valuable systems in glass art.
